Yom

The Six-Day Creation of the Cosmos.
Yom/Day
yom Richon Day 1 Sunday
Without form, empty and waste
Deep and dark the vacant space,
His Spirit brooded o’er the face;

Whilst on His waters there did float
In The Beginning words He spoke
His brightness in the darkness broke:
Vast energies of light begun
First solar day without a sun!

yom Sheimi Day 2 Monday
Amidst the water there divides
His firmament expanse of skies;
I am not yet, but hear Him cry

“water below! Water above!
heavens into the liquid move”
‘twas thus His fiat word did prove;

His second day of light unspun
Continues the continuum!

yom Shilishi Day 3 Tuesday
Accumulations of the seas
Gave birth, and land with setting seed,
Fruit bearing plants that He decreed;

This genius in the Infinite
For taste and beauty, health and might
Coded each plant for our delight;

All the while His Spirit moved
Over the goodness He approved
Third of three the work completes
The joy of God the Paraclete;

yom Rivee-ee Day 4 Wednesday
Now says His providential care
“Let there be lights in heaven there
The times of day and night divide
In varied hours of equtides”

These days and seasons He assigns
See, as the greater light He spins
In gathered energy He rims;

yom Chamishi Day 5 Thursday
Spanglings shoal the living seas
And flocks fly in the heavenlies
Abundant in their jollity;

Round monsters in the living deep
Creature divers glide and sweep,
And in their gardens all unknown
He sees where all His fishes go;

yom Shishi Day 6 Friday
What e’er His Majesty approved
His cosmos with His creatures roved,
In kindness one to others moved;
With vegetation to digest
All flesh abundantly were blessed
Their habitations to possess;

Thus filled the waters of the sea
And land with multiplicity:
Now every creature kind you see
Has kept its kind genetically;

Here at this point's continuum
These fiat days are nearly done
But hearken at the word to come;
Listen and you then may prove
This revelation from above :
You bear His image still in love;

“Let Us Father, Son and Spirit ,
Ruling subjects in Our care,
Create beings to inherit
In our image dwelling there.”

yom Shabbat Day 7 Saturday
Upon Shabbat, the One in Three
Cease Their Creativity
And here’s revealed a mystery:
In the garden all sublime
Was writ a Holy Paradigm,
A covenantal Law to prove
A loyalty in creature-love;

But in the Genesis of time
Man spurned this Holy ‘paradigm’:
As fickle man fell in the sod
His Maker turned Redeemer–God.
