Calls In The Wild - 13/10/2014

Yet again it is a while since I have updated my news for secrett artwork. I have been wonderfully distracted by expanding my rural poetry and prose, and, gaining much inspiration from 'our' first grandchild! Since my last entry I received a request from a devotee to paint a secret scene from the landscape of the North Yorkshire moors where they live. You can have a glimpse of this work in the website gallery. I have so enjoyed researching and creating this piece about the atmosphere emerging from landscape, its flora and birdsong. I have had to study carefully the curlew in flight. The painting is named, 'CALLS IN THE WILD'. In the gallery it is on page 2.

At a private presentation I was pleased to see the response the piece brought from my commisioner and her somewhat surprised husband!

I have been much engaged in producing a book of twelve early poems of mine with illustrations. That is all complete and comes off the press just before Christmas...I do hope so...and that my letter-press printmaker is reading this note! My file on Autumnal verse is growing very gradually from observations of all that is going on around us visually and in secret as fauna have their latter harvests and feasts prior to hibernation, and what of COLOUR after such a proliffic summer? We at secrettarwork give thanks for the abundant harvest and praise our Maker while He lends us breath.

At this moment in time I am developing my technique in water-colour painting. As many of my friends and customers know I have never called myself a 'watercolourist' as my technique in paint application is much more impasto.

Now the Christmas card this year is called 'STILL SMALL VOICE'. So watch this space for the 2014 secrett image for the season and a new poem called, 'FESTIVE TAPESTRY'

Just to say in completing this news bite, thank you for taking the time to read this, and, from the secrettartwork team, every blessing, David and colleagues.

The Return - 19/02/2014

Should I feel shame or seek fame again! As you can see my last entry here was in November......2000.... and......... 11!! perhaps settle for shame.

During the last twenty six months I have been dividing my time reading, writing and painting. The space I once occupied at Cedar Farm Galleries has been vacated! I moved into a private studio in March this year, 2014 . At the moment there are plans for the selling of my Limited Edition Prints and originals from galleries in and around Lancashire. Nigel Hill is sorting out some possibilities here and is the person through whom sales will be made. His contact details are: secrettartwork@hotmail.com

The last year has seen some very significant development in the medium of poetry. I am now realising how combined, and complementary, pictorial and verbal expression have become for me. Later this year some of my poetry and prose comes up for publication if it manages to get over the hurdles preceding publication. I am also starting to venture out into the poetic, public domain, listening and contributing in groups of amateur and professional writers. Any questions about secrett artwork poetry can be answered via my email: secrettartwork@hotmail.com

Regarding my painting I am working on pieces a lot smaller than those in my present website archive, most of which can be acquired on site or through Nigel Hill. The recent smaller works, to which I have referred, will appear in the website archive from time to time during the remainder of the year. There are some new pieces about Spring, and later on, autumn. Thank you for coming onto my site for which I hope you are rewarded with enjoyment. If you feel an inclination to give me some feedback I should be pleased to hear from you!

This is all for now. Best wishes, David
